Meet Judge Nicole Taylor

Judge Nicole Taylor presides over Dallas County Court at Law 5, and is seeking a second term in 2026. Judge Taylor has more than 20 years of combined judicial and legal experience. Before taking the bench, Judge Taylor handled a wide range of civil matters including motions, discovery disputes, jury and bench trials. Her litigation experience encompasses commercial litigation and litigation management in both federal and state courts.


Judge Nicole Taylor was previously a partner at The Cochran Law Firm Texas, and she served as the Managing Attorney for The Taylor Law Firm, P.C. She represented businesses, governmental entities, non-profits, trade associations, foundations and social service organizations. Her practice areas included corporate and business, labor and employment, real estate, finance and taxation matters.


Judge Taylor has also worked as a Partner of West & Associates and as a Senior Associate at Adorno Yoss White & Wiggins. Judge Taylor is a proud graduate of Clemson University and Southern Methodist University School of Law. In prior years, Judge Taylor has been active in the Texas Trial Lawyers Association serving as Chair of Diversity & Inclusion and has been a member of the American Association for Justice, the Dallas Bar Association and J.L. Turner Legal Association. Judge Taylor was also a member of the Texas Democratic Lawyers Association and participated extensively in voter protection initiatives.


Judge Taylor and her family are longtime Dallas County residents. She is a former Democratic Precinct Chair and served Dallas County as a Voter Deputy Registrar for many years. Judge Taylor is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a national public service organization, for more than 25 years and served in National and Regional leadership positions. She is a breast cancer survivor and an ardent advocate for those battling this diagnosis. Judge Taylor served on the board of 1060 Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting single mothers, and their families, who are fighting breast cancer.
